We all know that country pubs are the heart and soul of Australian townships and Balldale Hotel is no different. 115 years old and full of history, it is one of the great pubs in the Riverina where the community and visitors come to enjoy a cold beer, have a laugh and a good feed.
Located between Albury and the Rutherglen wine region in a classic Australian village, we’re within easy reach of Howlong and Corowa. We like to think that we serve classic pub fare with a bit of flare, but come and check us out yourself. If you’re around, come and relax in our beer garden and listen to live music most Sunday afternoons.

Opening Hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday,12 – Late, Sunday 12 – 8pm
Meals: Thursday 6 – 8pm, Fridays, Saturdays12 – 3pm & 6 – 8pm, Sundays 12 – 3pm & 5.30 – 7pm

History
Built in 1904, the hotel played a vital role in the Balldale community for over a century before closing its doors to the public in 2011. It was purchased in 2019 in an almost derelict condition and underwent significant renovation to modernise the facilities and to restore the pub to its former glory. It reopened its doors on November 2nd 2019 welcoming back neighbours, farmers, former patrons and families of the region.
The Beer Garden, or “The Garden” as we like to call it, provides a family friendly environment, a function area or a place to sit and relax with your mates. Inside, come and enjoy the dining room for a quieter space or the main bar to sit with the locals and chat with our friendly staff.
Our mission is to provide a place to eat, drink and be merry for those within the Riverina and to those who are vising. As owners, we are passionate about the community and providing a place where everyone is welcome. We also love good food, cold beer and don’t take life too seriously.
